A Safe & Effective Algae and Moss Cleaner for all playground surfaces including timbers both painted and pressure treated, wetpour, tiles and rubber mulch.

Algaecide is a concentrated liquid which is designed to clean and remove black algae and moss from all types of playground surfaces. Algaecide contains a fungicide which eradicates algae, lichen and moulds from all hard playground surfaces. Algaecide kills off algae and leaves a protective residual active film which prevents re-infection of the surface and protects surfaces for up to six months. Applications can be applied all year round.  Once the surface has been treated with Algaecide the surface requires no water blasting, scrubbing or rinsing.  If the surface to be cleaned is not fully exposed to rainfall, some assistance may be required to remove contamination. Just thoroughly wet the dry surface with the product and with the elements (wind and rain) to slowly wash the contamination away from the treated surface. 

Dilution of Algaecide Playground Surface Cleaner

Mix one part Algaecide Playground Surface Cleaner to five parts water.  This is a guide only and strength may be increased if mould contamination is heavy.

Algaecide can be used on a variety of surfaces where Mould, Algae and inbuilt grime is a problem. It has a simple application of spraying onto affected surfaces, leave for a week for Algaecide to kill off all mould and algae, then jet away afterwards for a clean and mould free finish.

How to Use

Dilute with water as directed at the rate of 1 part concentrate up to 5 parts cold water. Apply by watering can or sprayer, covering the area to be treated and allow to dry off naturally. Coverage should be 1 litre of diluted solution to 10 - 20 sq.mtrs approximately. There is usually no need for scrubbing or brushing, results can be visible within 48 hours depending on conditions. Used as directed Algaecide should also give protection against regrowth for approximately 6 - 12 months. Algaecide patio cleaner must be stored in a cool dark area away from children.  Thoroughly saturate the dry surface to be treated with Algaecide mixture (DO NOT HOSE FIRST) so that the maximum benefit is achieved.  Algaecide is best applied in overcast conditions to avoid evaporation.  Do not apply if rain is expected in the following 4-5 hours. A second application may be required if mould continues 1-2 months from first application.

Do I rinse if off later?

No, leave Algaecide spray and forget to work and its active ingredients will work over a period of time.

What will the results look like?

After a few days you will begin to see darkening of the moss, algae deposits.  This is the Algaecide beginning to work.  Over time the deposits will disappear completely.

How long will the treatment last?

An application of Algaecide will continue to work for over a year in good conditions.  If you have persistent deposits, it make require further treatments to maintain the area.

What about pets, pond fish and wildlife?

Algaecide is safe to use around animals and pondlife, but care should always be taken when using chemicals.
