Award winning Christchurch based company Online Playgrounds were delighted to welcome local MP and DEFRA Secretary Steve Barclay to help them celebrate 30 years of trading.

Managing Director Andrew Sparrow says “What started as a farm diversification project 30 years ago has grown into a proud British company that supplies playground equipment and parts all over the world. We have survived the 2008 recession, the Covid Pandemic and come out stronger.  I am proud to say we have produced a record turnover in this our 30th Year.”

The company, which started as Fenland Fabrications 30 years ago and moved through Fenland Leisure Products to become the international Online Playgrounds it is today has customers as far afield as the USA, Australia, Israel, and Dubai.  It has also supplied businesses such as the MOD, NATO, Sultan of Brunei and the Steamship SS Great Britain as well as numerous local parks and schools.

All the Safalog™ timber playgrounds are manufactured on-site using traditionally skilled craftsman whilst using the latest technology available, and over time the company has widened its offering.  Now not only are they the UK supplier for the innovative Danish Ledon steel play equipment but they are also the go-to website for multi brand spare parts for all types of playground.

“For Christchurch and Fenland to be able to export to the Middle East and internationally is something quite notable.  One of the challenges we face as an economy is to get more businesses to think about exporting further afield and what Online Playgrounds has achieved reflects the work that goes on here day in day out”.  Steve Barclay MP offered his support to the work the company does in putting Fenland on the map internationally.
