Durston House - Playground Renovations

Durston House is an independent prep school for girls and boys aged 3-13, located in West London, Ealing. The school was established in 1886 and holds a long-standing academic reputation, priding itself on diversity, ambition and excellence.

Last year the OLP team completed a large-scale playground renovation for the school to create a space that's fun, vibrant and practical.

The school's surfacing was worn and faded, so the team got to work updating the tired safety surfacing with fresh wetpour. Adding vibrant playground markings to provide a pop of colour and to encourage imagination and engagement.

Other areas of the playground were resurfaced with soft artificial grass to complement the green wetpour. 

The School's storage shed, and playground shelter were both in need of replacement. We installed two of our timber Breaktime Shelters, with steel post feet set into the wetpour as well as a new storage shed. All our timber equipment is pressure treated, providing a long-lasting, low-maintenance product. 

Our Breaktime Shelter is the perfect place for children to gather with friends, read, and enjoy the outdoors during breaks as well as a handy storage area when not in use. 

The playground was in need of storage for smaller items such as small bikes, pushchairs and craft materials. Our timber Toddler Storage Shed and open-ended Bike Storage shelter was the perfect solution.  

Lastly we added some of our standalone timber play equipment to their play space, including our Mud Kitchen with Cooker and Sink and our Children's Wooden Workstation.   

This was a rewarding renovation project with a clean, cohesive finish to provide breaktime fun for generations to come.
