New Ledon Play Area for Toddlers
"My little one has absolutely loved playing on the playground today. The equipment is outstanding and so much for younger little ones to do." Gemma Medhurst, Resident
In February 2020 the old toddler play area was looking very tired and outdated. New compliance meant that many pieces were no longer suitable for use, including the popular metal slide and climbing frame. In addition, the surfacing was no longer fit for purpose - uneven ground, trip hazards and slippery surfaces caused by shrinkage of the old wetpour tiles were causing particular concern. Crowland Parish Council decided now was the time to give the area a new look, with all the existing equipment being removed apart from the beautiful retro Wicksteed roundabout (which was delightfully rennovated by their parks team).
The council were keen to continue with a low maintenance metal playground, so as the key Ledon dealer in the UK we could offer a wide range of their creative play environments which fitted perfectly with Crowland's vision for the playground.
Before the project could start an old hedge had to be taken down and replaced with rebound fencing. Then the dreaded pandemic arrived, which of course involved furloughs and Zoom meetings which added an extra challenge to the whole project. However the whole team pulled together and we were delighted when the play area was completed earlier this year.
Play pieces included: Dixo Explore Multiplay with attached playhouse, 2 bay 4 swing seat, Galleon Explore spring mobile, Tiger Explore spring mobile, Elephant Explore spring mobile, Zig Zag Twister, Mini Bowl Spinner, a Single Birds Nest Junior Swing, and Off Road Play Vehicle.
