Moda Living courtyard: From design to installation

Moda Living has taken the UK by storm, with developments popping up in cities all over the country. The contemporary spaces boast a range of amenities with a focus on enriching lifestyle and bringing communities together. We were delighted to have the opportunity to see Moda Living first hand at the end of last year. We were contacted by the Moda team to design and install leisure equipment for their new outdoor space in Birmingham, Loudon’s Yard.

Loudon's Yard consists of a 14 story tower block, 398 new homes, complete with state-of-the-art amenities, a spacious courtyard all located less than a mile from Birmingham City Centre.

The residential courtyard has a modern feel, with natural elements running throughout to create a welcome contrast against the surrounding urban buildings. The OLP team worked with Moda from start to finish, from developing the initial concept and design, to production of equipment and installation.  

Moda have embraced the area's heritage as well as there their own values of sustainability and wellbeing by incorporating mature trees, gardens and green spaces throughout the neighbourhood. In the 19th Century, landowners refused to allow factories to be built in the area as industrialisation gripped Birmingham, and Edgbaston became known as the place "where the trees begin".

Now let’s take a closer look at the finished project which is now enjoyed by the many residents of Loudon's Yard.

Our custom-made pergola is designed to fit the curve of the pathway and manufactured from laminated pressure treated timbers and set on steel post feet.

3 low level Robinia Fitness Stations.

15 large stone boulders to form a natural climbing playscape. 

And lastly, bespoke artistic benches manufactured from a combination of powder coated steel and Iroko. Each bench weighing a whopping 270kg!
